Tawid OFW Program
With the COVID 19 Pandemic, it is estimated that around 250,000 OFWs lost their jobs and soon will be back in the country, displaced and with no source of income. These OFWs who have helped sustain immensely our country’s economy with their remittances but now have lost their jobs and are in distress, need our help.
The TOP consists of three (3) sub-programs namely:
Household Tawid Tulong Program (HTTP)
This aims to augment the day to day expenses of the OFW family by giving in the amount of Php500.00 – Php1,000.00 per week in the form of vouchers
Entrepreneurial Career Program (ECP)
This will provide livelihood and entrepreneurial skills to those who want to set up their own business. It will also provide employment opportunities to OFWs through our corporate and individual partners looking for skilled and qualified employees.
Value Formation and Learning Program (VFLP)
This program will provide learnings though on-line tutorials, webinars and other electronic platforms Value formation and reorientation, financial literacy and sustainability, and other program modules of CFC MP.
How it works
The TOP will be working with existing and prospective partners from the church (CBCP -ECMI and the Dioceses); the government agencies (OWWA and other government agencies providing assistance to OFWs); non-government organizations like the Gregorio Oca Leadership Development (GOLD) Foundation, for the seafarers or seamen, the Philippine Association of Service Exporters Inc. (PASEI), an association of manpower deployment agencies; and private corporations and individuals.
These partners shall provide assistance to the TOP through their network, donations and contributions, sponsorships, grants and subsidies.
How can I register under TOP?
To implement the program, CFC Migrants Program (MP) has initiated an on-line survey using Google Form for repatriated OFWs. This will allow CFC MP to gather data and identify and qualify the OFWs in need of assistance.
